ITV sells Britannia High WORLDWIDE!

ITV Global Entertainment, the distribution arm of the British commercial broadcaster, has sold hit drama Britannia High to a raft of international broadcasters.

Australian commercial broadcaster Seven Network, HBO Latin America, the Middle East's MBC and Nickelodeon Australia have all acquired the musical show.
Further international sales are expected to be announced shortly, which is more proof for ITV that the series, based in Salford (kind of) has been a success.

International hitDespite being up against Antiques Roadshow on a Sunday night, Britannia High has rated pretty strongly, although the BBC One show has been eating into its audience.
"Britannia High has performed well in the UK amongst the tween and young adult audience - where it regularly rates number 1 with the demographic in its primetime slot,” said Tobi de Graaff, global director, International TV Distribution, ITV Global Entertainment.
The 9x1hour series, which was produced by ITV Productions and Universal Music-owned Globe Productions, follows the lives of a group of teenagers at a fictional theatre school. It includes music written by Take That's Gary Barlow.
The series also currently airs on Ireland's TV3.
